WhatsApp help pages hid AI instructions not to recommend privacy regulators
Privacy company Redact found 102 hidden blocks of chatbot instructions on 80 of 545 WhatsApp help pages. One told the AI not to recommend contacting any data protection authority, another banned any mention of GDPR once a user brought up a lawyer. WhatsApp says the notes were meant for its support chatbot, appeared because of a bug and have been removed.
