Trump calls robot imports a national security threat, but no tariffs yet
President Trump has declared imports of robotics, industrial machinery and their parts a threat to US national security. There are no new tariffs yet. Instead, Commerce and the US Trade Representative must negotiate with trading partners and report back within 180 days, with tariffs, quotas and fees still on the table.
