The New York Times sues Brave for selling its articles to AI companies
The New York Times and, in a second case, the Daily News, Chicago Tribune and Orlando Sentinel have sued Brave Software in Manhattan. They say Brave copied their journalism into a 30 billion page search index, sells it through its Search API to AI companies such as Anthropic, Perplexity, Mistral, xAI and Cohere, and helps users skip paywalls.
