Anthropic lets outside AI safety testers work like employees
Anthropic has embedded six researchers from the nonprofit METR inside the company with laptops, office space and internal tools roughly on par with its own risk teams. METR can publish its findings without a veto. One day after the announcement, Anthropic edited its post to say that it ultimately decides which information falls into the categories it may redact.
