Sweden's Government Offices block ChatGPT and Claude on staff computers and keep Copilot
From Monday, 26 October 2026, staff at Sweden's Government Offices can no longer open ChatGPT or Claude in the browser on their work computers. They are pointed to Microsoft Copilot, which the Government Offices approved and whose security it tightened after a review. The stated reason is information security when AI services are used without a contract. The Tax Agency and the National Board of Institutional Care already have similar blocks, and the Enforcement Authority is preparing its own decision.
