OpenAI rolled out Images 2.6 on November 4, 2026 across ChatGPT, Codex and the API. ChatGPT can create animated GIFs, generation is about 50% faster, and developers get GPT Image 2.6 Flare and Sunburst plus markup, SVG export and a complexity control.
