An open weight AI model hacked six Firefox releases for about $1,000 each
Epoch AI let the open weight model GLM 5.3 read upcoming Firefox security fixes and build attacks on its own. It compromised all six Firefox releases from September 17 to October 26, at a marginal cost of about $1,000 per version, and no provider ever refused the task.
