Linus Torvalds built a Linux kernel speedup with Claude Code
Linus Torvalds pushed a new branch to his own Linux tree called noref-filemap-read-with-llm. His cover letter says Claude Code wrote the code, the test programs and the first draft of the text under his direction. On his laptop, eight threads now finish about three times as many small reads per second. Nothing is merged yet.
