Cloudflare open-sources Clef, its first decision models
Clef and Clef-flash ship with Apache 2.0 weights on Hugging Face and run on Workers AI.
Cloudflare open-sourced Clef and Clef-flash, its first decision models, on Workers AI on October 1. The weights are released under Apache 2.0 on Hugging Face, and the models are Jev-API compatible.
The numbers
Both models use a vision encoder and a 64k context window. Clef leads the Jev Decision Index. Clef-flash has a median latency of about 39 ms, compared with 524 ms for Jev.
What is next
Cloudflare also announced a new reinforcement learning fine-tuning service, built with its FDE team. A self-serve platform is planned.
